Guide to Being a Good Trap Shooting Squad Leader

In every game there is always one who stands out. Not because of their looks or the way they wear their outfit, but because of the sense of leadership that emanates from them. There are certain qualities that a squad leader in trap shooting, must possess. Here are some qualities that a good squad leader should possess.

Important Qualities

One important quality that a good squad leader should have is the mental alertness and attention that he has towards his surroundings, the game and his squad. One cannot be a good squad leader if he or she does not have the right focus and less concentration is given in any other situation.

What is a Good Squad Leader?

A good squad leader is someone who is emotionally secure. Someone who does not show anger or frustration towards anyone on their team. Professionalism should be maintained at all times because this would also warrant professionalism from your squad.

Another quality of being a squad leader is that he or she leads with that sense of authority but without pushing others. Confusing? There should be a smooth glide of that authority, you take charge by simply acting and being professional towards them to have them listen and conform.

Being a supportive and friendly leader is also important. A squad leader should smile and introduce themselves. Trap shooting may be a serious game but it is also fun and enjoyable. A good squad leader must also be one who is open to suggestions or feedback from their team. Remember, one sure way to have a better performance is learning from your mistakes.

Being Courteous

The rest is all common courtesy. Just because you are the squad leader doesnt mean that you can command and abuse your squad. Respect should also be observed in an out of the game. And most of all, a good squad leader should know the pages of the rule book! How can one be a good squad leader when he or she is not even familiar with the basic rules and regulations of trapshooting?

Follow the rules and be an influence to those trap shooters who are either younger in terms of age or younger in terms of experience. Hopefully, this articles has taught those who wanted to be a squad leader, and also open the eyes of squad leaders. Be a good squad leader and be good at the game!
